Does the Platform Take a Booking Cut?

The Short Answer

No. L4 does not take a percentage of booking revenue. Booking payments go to the facility's own payment account.

That is the answer. The rest of this page is the surrounding bill, so the "no" does not get mixed with other products that do split.

If you already know your roster size and how many athletes trained in the last 90 days, use the gym software pricing calculator to see the L4 estimate next to those numbers.

What the Facility Pays for Booking

Booking is an optional add-on at $100 CAD per month, plus applicable tax. It is not included in the facility subscription. Confirm current numbers on l4performance.ca/l4.

You can leave it off. If you turn it on, the facility pays a flat monthly add-on. The payments collected for bookings go to the facility's account. There is no platform percentage on those booking payments.

The facility subscription is separate, priced on active athletes (CAD plus applicable tax):

  • Free under 25 active athletes
  • $99.99 per month up to 500
  • $139.99 for 501 to 1,000
  • $199.99 for 1,001 to 2,000

A facility on the $99.99 rung that also wants booking pays $199.99 per month before tax for those two lines. Under 25 active athletes, the subscription is free and booking, if you want it, is still $100.

Is booking in the base plan? No. That page is Is booking included, or an add-on?

Why "Cut" and "Add-On" Are Different Questions

A vendor can include booking in a higher subscription and still take a percentage of every payment. A vendor can sell booking as an add-on and take no percentage. A vendor can do both, or neither. You only know if you ask both.

On L4 the pair is: add-on of $100, no percentage of booking revenue, payments to the facility's own account.

If you are comparing tools, write the answers on one line each. Do not treat a low monthly number as the all-in booking cost until you know whether a percentage sits on the payments. That is the same all-in habit as What Gym Software Really Costs Once You Add It Up.

Do Not Confuse This With the Parent Split

Some parent-facing products do split.

Premium is $9.99 CAD per month per athlete, paid by the family, for ranking and season-summary style reporting. A home program is a one-time purchase per four-week block, facility-configurable, commonly $79.99 to $99.99. Those use a Stripe Connect split. The facility receives the majority by default (70 facility / 30 platform), unless a tenant has a negotiated override.

That split is not a booking cut. It is the parent-paid path: the parent pays, and the facility gets a share. Free parent access (profile, wellness-style tracking, goals, personal records, base player card, workout viewing, messaging the coach) does not use that split because there is no parent payment. See What can a parent see without paying? and Who pays for gym software?

The Roster Rules Still Apply to the Subscription, Not to a Cut

The active test (session in the last 90 days, or a current program assignment) decides the facility rung. Archive someone and they stop counting the same day. Tiers move in both directions on the next invoice, with no mid-cycle proration. None of that is a booking percentage. It is the subscription meter.

What counts as an active athlete? and Does the software bill drop when the roster shrinks? cover that meter.

Scope

Strength and conditioning software your coaches run the floor on, with an athlete and parent app that creates new revenue for your facility.

Strength and conditioning software

L4 is built for youth athletes training in a facility, plus a parent portal. It is not a program marketplace for athletes who never enter the building. It is not lab-grade force-plate hardware. The no-cut rule on this page is about booking payments, not about turning the product into a marketplace.

Put "do you take a booking cut?" on the same checklist as "is booking an add-on?" and "who pays?" The full list is Questions to ask any gym software.

Frequently asked questions

Does L4 take a percentage of booking revenue?

No. L4 does not take a percentage of booking revenue. Booking payments go to the facility's own payment account.

What does the gym pay for booking?

An optional add-on at $100 CAD per month, plus applicable tax. It is not included in the facility subscription. You can leave it off.

Is the Premium 70 / 30 split a booking cut?

No. That Stripe Connect split applies to parent-paid Premium and home programs. Booking payments are not shared on that split.

Why ask about a cut and an add-on separately?

A vendor can include booking in a higher subscription and still take a percentage of every payment, or sell booking as an add-on and take no percentage. You only know if you ask both.
