What Can a Parent See Without Paying?

The parent-facing layer is optional, and the family pays it when they choose to. The facility subscription is a separate bill. A parent does not have to buy Premium or a home program to get the free base.

The free base includes:

• Profile
• Wellness-style tracking
• Goals
• Personal records
• Base player card
• Workout viewing
• Messaging the coach

That is the no-pay list. A parent can see the athlete, see the work, see the records, see the base card, and message the coach without a parent subscription.

Premium is $9.99 CAD per month per athlete. It is for ranking and season-summary style reporting. Confirm current facility-side numbers on l4performance.ca/l4. Parent prices above are CAD. Applicable tax may apply.

A home program is a one-time purchase per four-week block. The facility configures it. Common prices are $79.99 to $99.99.

Those two are choices. They are not a paywall in front of the free base. A family that never buys either still has profile, tracking, goals, records, the base card, workouts, and coach messaging.

Parent-paid products use a Stripe Connect split. The facility receives the majority by default (70 facility / 30 platform), unless a tenant has a negotiated override.

The family pays. The facility gets its share. The platform gets the rest. That is the third money flow on Who pays for gym software?: parent pays, and the facility gets a share.

This is not the facility subscription. The gym still pays its own rung (free under 25 active athletes, $99.99 up to 500, $139.99 for 501 to 1,000, $199.99 for 1,001 to 2,000, CAD plus applicable tax). Active means a session in the last 90 days or a current program assignment. Archive someone and they stop counting the same day (What counts as an active athlete?, Does the software bill drop when the roster shrinks?).

This is also not a booking cut. Booking is an optional $100 CAD per month add-on. L4 does not take a percentage of booking revenue. Booking payments go to the facility's own payment account. See Is booking included, or an add-on? and Does the platform take a booking cut?

You can run the facility product without selling Premium or home programs. Parents who only use the free base are still using the product the gym already pays for (or does not pay for, under 25 active athletes).

If you do offer Premium or home programs, the family opts in. The default split sends the majority to the facility. A negotiated override is possible. Do not assume 70 / 30 if your agreement says something else.

L4 is built for youth athletes training in a facility, plus this parent portal. It is not a program marketplace for athletes who never enter the building. It is not lab-grade force-plate hardware. The free parent list above is for families attached to in-facility athletes.

Ask what a parent can see with no parent payment. Get the list in writing. Then ask what is gated.

Ask who pays for the gated layer: the facility, the athlete, or the parent. If the parent pays, ask whether the facility receives a share, and what the default split is.

Ask whether booking, if you use it, is in that same split or on a different path. On L4 those paths are different.
