Is Booking Included, or an Add-On?

The Short Answer
Booking is an add-on. It is not inside the facility subscription.
The add-on is $100 CAD per month, plus applicable tax. Confirm current pricing on l4performance.ca/l4. You can run the facility product without it. You turn booking on if you want that line, and you pay the add-on if you do.
If you already know your roster size and how many athletes trained in the last 90 days, use the gym software pricing calculator to see the L4 estimate next to those numbers.
What You Pay Either Way
The facility subscription is its own bill, priced on active athletes:
- Free under 25 active athletes
- $99.99 per month up to 500
- $139.99 for 501 to 1,000
- $199.99 for 1,001 to 2,000
Those figures are CAD plus applicable tax. An athlete is active if they completed a training session in the last 90 days, or if they currently hold an active program assignment. Archive someone and they stop counting the same day. Details are on What counts as an active athlete?
Add booking and the facility side is the subscription plus $100. A facility on the $99.99 rung plus booking is $199.99 per month before tax. A facility under 25 active athletes still pays $100 if it turns booking on, because the add-on is not waived by the free rung.
The athlete rungs move in both directions on the next invoice. The booking add-on does not. It is on or it is off. See Does the software bill drop when the roster shrinks?
If an athlete stopped training, see Why you should not pay for athletes who are not training.
The Add-On Is a Flat Fee, Not a Cut
L4 does not take a percentage of booking revenue. Booking payments go to the facility's own payment account.
That is the whole booking money path. The gym pays $100 a month for the add-on. The money a parent or athlete pays to book goes to the gym's account. There is no platform percentage sitting on top of those payments.
If you are comparing tools, ask both questions, not one. "Is booking in the base plan?" and "If I collect booking payments, do you take a cut?" A low subscription that takes a percentage of every booked session is a different product from a $100 add-on with no cut. The second question has its own page: Does the platform take a booking cut?
For how those lines show up in an all-in comparison, see What Gym Software Really Costs Once You Add It Up.
Booking Is Not the Parent Layer
Families are not required to buy booking, Premium, or a home program to use the free parent-facing base (profile, wellness-style tracking, goals, personal records, base player card, workout viewing, messaging the coach).
Premium is $9.99 CAD per month per athlete, paid by the family, for ranking and season-summary style reporting. A home program is a one-time purchase per four-week block, facility-configurable, commonly $79.99 to $99.99. Those purchases use a Stripe Connect split. The facility receives the majority by default (70 facility / 30 platform), unless a tenant has a negotiated override.
That split applies to those parent-paid products. It is not a booking cut. Free parent access is listed on What can a parent see without paying? The three money flows (facility pays the vendor, athlete pays the vendor, parent pays and the facility gets a share) are on Who pays for gym software?
What This Page Is Not Claiming
Strength and conditioning software your coaches run the floor on, with an athlete and parent app that creates new revenue for your facility.
Strength and conditioning software
This page answers whether booking is included. It is not. It is $100 CAD per month.
It does not claim booking is required to use the facility product. It is optional.
It does not turn L4 into a program marketplace for athletes who never enter the building. L4 is built for youth athletes training in a facility, plus a parent portal. It is not lab-grade force-plate hardware.
If you are building a vendor checklist, put "included or add-on" and "percentage of booking revenue" on two lines. Then write the answers down. The rest of that list is on Questions to ask any gym software.
If you are still choosing a vendor, start with How to choose youth training gym software.
Frequently asked questions
Is booking included in the L4 facility subscription?
No. Booking is an optional add-on at $100 CAD per month, plus applicable tax. You can run the facility product without it.
Does the free facility rung waive the booking add-on?
No. A facility under 25 active athletes still pays $100 if it turns booking on. The add-on is not waived by the free rung.
Does L4 take a percentage of booking payments?
No. Booking payments go to the facility's own payment account. The gym pays the $100 add-on. There is no platform percentage on those payments.
Is the parent Premium split the same as a booking cut?
No. Premium and home programs use a Stripe Connect split (70 facility / 30 platform by default, unless a tenant has a negotiated override). That split is not a booking cut.
If summer athletes stop training and we fall under 25, do we still pay for booking?
Yes, if booking is still turned on. The free under 25 facility plan does not waive the booking add-on. Facility rungs can drop on the next invoice when the active count falls. Booking stays a separate on or off line at $100 CAD per month. See Does the software bill drop when the roster shrinks?
Does a quiet month turn booking off automatically?
No. Booking stays on until you turn it off. A quiet month can lower the facility subscription when active athletes fall into a lower rung. It does not cancel the booking add-on by itself.
